NetMAA holds various outreach programs throughout the year to benefit the Myanmar-American community.
YEAR 2010
U.S Immigration Assistant Workshop: (SUNDAY, MARCH 14)The Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA), Asian Pacific American Legal Center (APALC) and American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Southern California are proud to offer FREE U.S Immigration clinic regarding the green card application process, citizenship application assistance to Myanmar community and many other immigration issues. NetMAA provides individual immigration and citizenship assistance, educates the Myanmar community on immigration issues, and advocates for fair immigration laws and policies. Through this service, you can get the help you may need to reach the final and most important step of your immigration journey – American Citizenship!
Annual Asian Cultures Family Festival at Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena: (JUNE 5)[A celebration of Chinese, Himalayan, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippine and Thai Arts and Cultures ] The "Puppets Festival" will be presented by the Arts Councils of Pacific Aais Museum. Explore the arts and cultures of Asia through crafts, performances, and activities with free admission to the galleries. Myanmar (Burmese) arts and cultural dances will participate along with other Asian countries during the annual Asian Cultures Family Festival day on June 6. It is a great opportunity to perform the Myanmar culture in front of other Asian countries’ audiences. Join us for a celebration of the rich Myanmar culture with music, dance performances, and ethnic cuisine.
2nd Annual Myanmar (Burmese) Film Festival: (SAT & SUN, SEPTEMBER) (TO BE ANNOUNCED)The NetMAA is proud to share the rich Myanmar culture through the medium of cinema. The NetMAA organization is devoted to promoting a greater appreciation of Myanmar cinema by showcasing films about Myanmar and the diverse perspectives of the Myanmar culture. Experience and be part of the fun, glamour and excitement of a truly Myanmar community event celebrating two of the most culturally rich, enduring and most significant cultural art forms: Motion Pictures and Photography.
Labor Day Weekend Trip (Annual Myanmar families Adventure): (SAT - MON, SEPTEMBER 4 - 6)
Our goal is to provide a well-rounded, memorable experience in learning about cultural resources in the U.S. National Parks. With great pride and satisfaction, we have been offering educational community field trips for over 2 years. Every year, Labor Day weekend, we offer our community a chance to visit and explore the U.S NATIONAL PARKS such as Yosemite, The Grand Canyon, Lake Tahoe, Mammoth Lake, and Yellowstone National Park. This trip provides an opportunity to share and explore a wealth of information such as history, culture, historic landmarks, and family friendship.
Annual South East Asia Day (Myanmar Cultural) at Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach, California: (SAT, OCTOBER 2)A celebration of Cambodian, Laos, Myanmar(Burma), Thai and Vietnamese Arts and Cultures. Myanmar arts and cultural dances enable you to participate with other southeast Asia countries during the annual southeast Asia day held on 1st week of October ever year. It is a great opportunity to perform the Myanmar culture in front of other Asian countries’ audiences. Join us for a celebration of the rich Myanmar culture with music, dance performances, children’s crafts, and ethnic cuisine.
